The design's uniqueness lies in its form and function. Sasson's project is a bench made from multilaminated walnut plates, each shaped manually. The interior trim is finished with matte satin paint, adding a touch of elegance to the piece. The bench's design is not just about aesthetics; it also offers resistance, comfort, and lightness.
The bench was realized using multilaminate sheets applied manually one by one on a fixed mold with cold glue. After this process, the structure was sanded and received satin paint on the outside and inside. The design was finalized with a UV sealer, adding durability to the bench.
The bench measures 2900 x 420 x 430mm, making it a versatile piece for both home and corporate environments. The project began in October 2015 in Antonio Prado, Brazil, and was completed in November 2015 in the same city. The design process involved visits to target areas and a renowned architects database of images, foreseeing measures and possible uses for the project.
One of the challenges faced during the design process was adjusting the appliques system of the multilaminated sheet on the mold without them returning to their previous situation. A system of clips that could be removed without leaving visible marks was developed. This innovation was crucial in the project's quick completion.
This bench is not just a piece of furniture; it's a testament to Sasson's innovative design approach and his ability to blend aesthetics and functionality. The design was awarded the Golden A' Furniture Design Award in 2016, a prestigious accolade granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom.
